Charlotte Bronte was born on 21st of April, 1816. She was an English writer, the oldest of the three Bronte sisters whose works became English literary classics.
Charlotte enrolled in school, Roe Head in 1831, when she was 14 years of age. She left the following year to educate her sisters at home. After that, she got a job of governess in 1835. She left after the job of governess after a few months to go back to Haworth. In Haworth, the sisters founded a school that failed to gage students. Their first book, The Professor, released in 1846 by the pen names Currer, Ellis, and Acton Bell. However, publishers rejected her first work. Jane Eyre, published in 1847 was the second novel she wrote. By 1848, the sisters were well-known in literary circles in London.
Charlotte and Emily travelled to Brussels in 1842 to enrol at the boarding school. Charlotte taught English and Emily taught music in exchange for board and tuition. She came to Brussels alone in January 1843 to begin teaching at the school. In January 1844, she returned to Haworth and drew inspiration for some of the events in The Professor and Villette from her stay in Brussels.
Charlotte Bronte was the last of her siblings to die. She died three weeks before her 39th birthday on March 31, 1855.
